At First Choice Moving and Storage Inc., we are honored to help soldiers and their families get settled into their new home. We want to show our support to the military service members and their families by providing them with the best quality of customer service. Our 10% military discount is one way we are able to give back to those who have sacrificed so much.
Military life means moving, whether it’s temporary duty, PCS, or ETS move. Moving to a new duty station requires you and your family to work closely with the Transportation Division office and a local moving company.
First Choice is based near Fort Campbell KY, but if you are at any Army base in the 48 continental United States or are relocating (PCS) from Fort Campbell to a new base, First Choice is available to help you move safely and quickly.
We would like to thank you and your family members for your commitment and sacrifice. Thank you for your courage. You are never forgotten and we are always here to serve you.
PERSONALLY PROCURED MOVE (PPM OR DITY) SUPPORT
The optional PPM program available to U.S. service members is designed to improve the experience when moving your household goods on military orders by allowing you to manage the moving arrangements directly. Military families making a Permanent Change of Station (PCS), Temporary Duty (TDY), or Temporary Additional Duty (TAD) move, or who are separating (ETS), retiring and moving to or from government quarters under orders can take advantage of this option to Do It Yourself (DITY).
Moving is stressful. Let First Choice Moving and Storage take the worries out of your military move.
Worried about movers taking care of your belongings?
PPM movers have the opportunity to retain control of your belongings. This decreases the chance of your household goods becoming damaged or lost.
Worried you will have to wait on your household goods to arrive?
PPM movers get to take advantage of having their items as soon as they arrive to their new duty station. Since you are the one making arrangements with the moving professionals at First Choice, you get to schedule the move on your own terms.
Worried about the cost?
PPM movers can closely monitor expenses and often times can cut costs. When hiring professional movers to handle your PPM, you get to say how much or how little work you need them to perform. The end result could work in your favor, allowing you to profit. (Not sure if you can save money on a DITY move? Do the math using this helpful PPM move calculator.) Military.com provides a step-by-step PPM guide to help you through the process. Visit the Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS) to read official instructions for planning Do-It-Yourself / Personally Procured Moves and to download necessary forms. For local support, call the Fort Campbell Installation Transportation Division for Personal Property at (270) 798-7151.
With First Choice Moving and Storage, Inc., you get the benefit of our professional expertise. We have been a DITY service provider for 5 years. We understand military moving operations and the Defense Personal Property System for managing household shipments. We offer 3rd party services and will also provide you with all necessary Certified Weigh Tickets.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What makes First Choice different from other local movers?
First Choice takes pride in satisfying our customers. If you’re not happy, neither are we. Communication has been our key to success in keeping customers happy and “stress free.” We are always willing to answer any questions or concerns you may have.
Why should military families choose First Choice instead of the government moving service?
We are locally owned and operated and only serve one tenant per truck. The PPM program may seem stressful at first. You do have to take care of all the moving arrangements and expenses yourself instead of letting the government handle it for you. But with a little planning with one of our team members, you could take advantage of some key factors: Money, Time, Total Control. Contact us today to discuss your options.
